Supporting your child's wellbeing and mental health

We all know how important it is to support our children with their physical health but families sometimes can find it harder with their mental health. Here are some useful links, webinars and videos that can help you supplement the learning that we do at school.

If you need more support please contact your child's class teacher or Philippa Moulson, our Senior Mental Health Lead.

Sussex CAMHS webinars for families, including anxiety, building resilience and sleep can be found here:

https://www.sussexcamhs.nhs.uk/resources/resources-for-families-carers-and-professionals/parent-and-carer-workshops

Each workshop gives an overview of a specific difficulty and also some hints and tips on how young people can be supported.  There are also links to some resources that you may find helpful, either while you are waiting for CAMHS treatment, or as an alternative to CAMHS.

There are also a range of live webinars that you can book onto here:  https://ticketlab.co.uk/series/id/1206#/

The Importance of Sleep Children who have poor sleep will find it harder to cope with daily life and may suffer with poor mental health. Research shows that a child who is sleep-deprived can swing between being grumpy and hyperactive, with effects that can mimic ADHD.

There is a webinar to watch on the CAMHS website and The Sleep Charity has lots of information to help you  https://thesleepcharity.org.uk/information-support/children/
