Starting School 2021/22
On this page you will find information about:-
- starting school in September
- mouse club
- preparing your child for school
A very warm welcome to you all,
We are excited and delighted to be welcoming you and your child to our school and we want to assure you that we are working hard to ensure we carry out the best transition into school that we can. It is a top priority that our new starters will be happy, ready and keen to start school. Our normal transition program would look very different to what we have had to plan and no doubt our plans may have to change based on future advice.
As a school we want to reassure you that whatever changes we have to make you will be informed as soon as possible. We will always have the very best interests of our school community at the heart of any decisions we make. The children’s wellbeing and safety is of the upmost importance to us and we are making sure we will consider this with every decision that is taken regarding starting school in September 2021.
This section of the Website has been created this year so that you can access information that you would have been given at key workshops and meetings. Transition is a crucial part of starting big school and this year more than ever it is essential that it is managed well. Social and emotional wellbeing is incredibly important and we hope that the activities we have provided with ’Mouse Club’ help to support your child.
If Government Guidelines allow:
We will be in touch with some dates for story sessions. If we cannot do this we will upload story sessions to the school website .
We have planned for September to look like this:
Home visits on the 6th, 7th and 8th September.
Part time sessions on the 9th and 10th September.
Children will be attending full-time from Monday 13th September.
Things might be different this year but we will get to know you and your child before they start school, it might be a phone call or a face to face meeting but we will ensure your child gets to know their teacher and the classroom virtually!
Lastly, if you have any concerns regarding any aspect of transition please do not hesitate to contact the school.
